John
John emphasizes the divinity of Christ and the intimate relationship between Jesus and the Father. It opens with the profound statement, “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God” (John 1:1). The Gospel includes key miracles (called “signs”), deep theological discourses, and personal encounters that reveal Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the world. It concludes with a clear purpose: “that you may believe” (John 20:31).
